Guelph Youth Dance Company (ages 10-19)

The Guelph Youth Dance Company is an exciting opportunity for contemporary dancers from 10-19 years of age (Company A and B). The Company offers rigorous training, with each rehearsal beginning with a ballet class, a variety of repertoire, a compelling array of guest teachers and partnerships with other arts organizations. Past partnerships have included performances with Dancetheatre David Earle, The Suzuki School, Carousel Dance Centre (Waterloo), AfroCulture, the Guelph Health Conference and Season Singers.

Guelph Youth Dance Company Auditions

The GYD Company seeks dancers for its 2011/12 season. The GYD Company dancers must be between the 10-19 years and have had a minimum of two years of dance training. The GYD Company dancers need to be very committed and passionate about dance and performance.

Thursday May 26, Temple Studios (42 Quebec Street)
5-6:30 pm: 10-12 years
6:00-7:00: 12-19 years

Please wear dance clothes and be prepared for a warm up/technique class followed by repertoire & composition.

About the GYD Company

The GYD Company was formed in 2008 in collaboration with the Guelph Contemporary Dance Festival as a means of further celebrating, enhancing and training young dance artists. The GYD Company is the first contemporary dance company for youth in Guelph. The GYD Company only hires professional, established Canadian dance choreographers with great skill and artistry as well as experience with youth education.
