Pre-Primary Classes (ages 4 & 5)
For children 4-5 years of age, we offer classes in creative dance. Using the imagination as the launching pad for delight and discovery, children learn a vocabulary of creative movement and artistic expression in a non-competitive environment that teaches them to listen to their own courageous voices in an inventive, safe and fun milieu.
Pre-Primary Creative Dance
The class aims to build physical confidence, strength, flexibility and body awareness while devloping the child's natural joy of movement and active imagination. In this class, children will learn fundamental movement skills necessary to express themselves through dance. Children will run, leap, twist, turn, bend, stretch, feel and play, all in fun, protected and stimulating artisitc and creative environment.
Details to know
- Because of the nature of the discipline, regular and punctual attendance is a must. Please arrive a few minutes prior to each class.
- Modern Dance Attire
- Hair off face and neck in whatever manner is preferred
- Girls: body suit and footless tights or footless unitard.
- No tee-shirts or sweat pants for technique classes.
- Boys: shorts or tights and tee-shirt.
- Please bring a labelled water bottle.
Parental involvement
- Regular viewing times will be organized for families and friends.
- Informal performances throughout the year.
- Final year-end performance at 6:30 pm on May 19, 2011 at the Guelph Youth Music Centre.
