Heather Finn
Heather grew up dancing, which fostered her curiosity about how the body moves and works.  She studied ballet with Carolyn Zettel in Waterloo, modern and break dance at McMaster University Centre for Dance, and danced professionally with Hamilton Dance Company, Caroline Barrière Danse (Ottawa) and Suzette Sherman/Dancetheatre David Earle (Guelph).
Heather completed her Bachelor of Arts and Science in 2001 and her Masters in Physiotherapy in 2004.  She apprenticed with Joanna Speller of the National Ballet School, researched perfectionism in dancers with Donna Krasnow of York University Dance Department, and completed a dance medicine internship with Sunday Homitz of the Cleveland Ballet.  She currently works at Speed River Physiotherapy with post-graduate training in orthopaedics, pelvic health, and Clinical Pilates (Mat, Reformer and Total Barre).  Heather is a member of Healthy Dancer Canada, the Canadian Alliance of Dance Artists, Canadian Physiotherapy Association, and the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science.
As coordinator of the Wellness Program at Guelph Youth Dance since 2018, Heather plans to infuse dancer wellness into her conditioning classes, and support her students both inside and out!
