Jeff has been playing drums, percussion, musical saw, instruments with strings attached and occasionally singing in a professional context for over 20 years.
HIs career has allowed him to tour extensively with various ensembles, several of whom claim Juno nominations.
Jeff has composed and performed music for dance, theatre and songs for his own projects with groups he has lead or co-lead. Much of this material was produced and recorded in his own boutique production studio. Several of his compositions have been used as sound tracks for film and radio.
Dance accompaniment is a central component of Jeff’s career, reflecting a musician’s desire for improvisation. Jeff has had the privilege of working with several luminaries of Canadian dance including Peggy Baker, Serge Benathan, Carol Anderson, Peter Bonham, Christopher House and most recently Janet Johnston.
Lately Jeff spends a lot of time making up songs with his 5 year old daughter and accompanying her frequent living room dance excursions.
It has been an honour to have been so warmly welcomed into the fold of Guelph Youth Dance, who’s tireless work and creativity constantly inspires the students, as well as this accompanist.
