Catrina von Radecki

Catrina is the Co-Founder of Guelph Youth Dance and is the School Director.

Catrina graduated with a BFA in dance from Concordia University (Montreal)  in 1992.  She has studied and taught at the innovative European Dance Development Centre in Arnhem Holland and Düsseldorf, Germany as well as independently in Montreal, Kitchener, Waterloo and Guelph.

She has danced for the international renowned Compagnie Marie Chouinard (Montreal), Dance Alliance (Germany) and various independent choreographers (Montreal, Guelph).

Catrina is the Co-Founder and Artistic Director of the Guelph  Dance Festival, which is now in its 25th year.

Catrina was awarded the YMCA/YWCA Women of Distinction award in 2008 for her contribution to Arts and Culture in Guelph.

Catrina is  a certified Open Source Forms teacher, after three years of summer training in Seattle Washington with Stephanie Skura.  Open Source Forms focuses on cross-fertilizations and deep commonalities of Skinner Releasing Technique and creative process, guided by the philosophy that the source of creativity and wisdom is available in each of us.

In 2019 Catrina completed the Summer Institute for Dance Teachers at the Creative Dance Centre in Seattle, Washington, where she studied the BrainDance Methodology. In 2021 she became a certified Alixa Flexibilty teacher and in 2023 a certified Science of Stretching coach. She continues to enjoy staying updated in current dance and body practices.
