The Guelph Youth Apprentice Company offers passionate young dancers aged 9-11 the chance to dance with various guest choreographers and perform 3-5 times throughout the season. Dancers are selected through an audition process.
Performance Opportunities
Members of the Guelph Youth Dance Apprentice Company have had the opportunity to perform at a variety of events, including:
- GYD December Open House
- Dance Exchange Days
- Fall Danceworks, Guelph City Hall
- Chrysalis Project at the River Run, reaching over 5,000 attendees
- Annual Spring Show at the River Run Centre in May
Each year we look forward to exciting new opportunities to perform and collaborate with local arts organizations.
Training Schedule
Apprentice Company classes and rehearsals run from September to May. If accepted, members are required to attend all company rehearsals and performances.

Mandatory Classes:
- Apprentice Ballet and Rehearsal
- Contemporary Technique and Composition
Optional Classes:
- Jazz
- Hip Hop

Company Member Registration Process
Registration for company members will open from June 7-10 to ensure they secure spots in mandatory classes, which fill quickly. Following this pre-registration period, registration opens on June 11 for returning members and June 18 for new families.
Important Note: After June 10, we cannot guarantee your spot in mandatory company classes.
Payment Plans: We offer three and seven-month installment plans.
To Register:
- Select your classes on the portal (starting June 7).
- E-transfer your company deposit and registration fee (including taxes) to catrina@guelphyouthdance.ca
Fees:
- Non-refundable Deposit: $200 + taxes = $226
- Non-refundable Registration Fee: $40 + taxes = $45.20
- Total: $271.20
- Your classes will be reserved once your e-transfer of $271.20 is processed. Please note that classes are not reserved until this step is completed.
- Installments are due by e-transfer on the 1st of each month from September 1 to March 1. Families must ensure their total is divided into 7 equal payments.
