The Guelph Youth Dance Young Company offers passionate young dancers aged 12-14 the chance to dance with various guest choreographers and perform 3-5 times throughout the season. Dancers are selected through an audition process.
Performance Opportunities
Members of the Guelph Youth Dance Young Company have had the opportunity to perform at a variety of events, including:
- GYD December Open House
- Dance Exchange Days
- Fall Danceworks, Guelph City Hall
- Winter Danceworks, River Run Centre
- Suzuki String School, River Run Centre
- Annual Spring Show at the River Run Centre in May
Each year we look forward to exciting new opportunities to perform and collaborate with local arts organizations.
Training Schedule
Young Company classes and rehearsals run from September to May. If accepted, members are required to attend all company rehearsals and performances.
Weekly Training Includes:
Mandatory Classes:
- Young Company Ballet and Rehearsal
- Contemporary Technique and Composition
Optional Classes:
- Conditioning (highly recommended)
- Jazz
- Hip Hop

Company Member Registration Process
Registration for company members will open from June 1-6th to ensure they secure spots in mandatory classes, which fill quickly. Following this pre-registration period, registration opens on June 7 for returning members and June 14 for new families.
Important Note: After June 6, we cannot guarantee your spot in mandatory company classes.
Payment Plans: We offer three and eight-month installment plans.
